The Institute of Technologies and Information Systems (ITSI), located at the Ciudad Real campus of the University of Castilla-La Mancha, was inaugurated on 10 May 2010.
ITSI's mission is to promote research in different areas of Computer Engineering in order to develop, and transfer to organisations, information technologies and systems that contribute to the progress and welfare of society.
ITSI's vision is to be the leading research institute in the field of information technologies and systems, a national and international reference, mainly in the field of applied research.
The Institute has more than 70 researchers with a wide experience both in basic research (acquired through participation in multiple regional and national research projects and international research stays) and in applied research (in international projects, H2020 calls and contracts in collaboration with public bodies and companies). The researchers carry out their work in 10 Research Groups that address different lines related to information technologies and systems, all of them cutting-edge and aligned with national and European social priorities.
Finally, in its entrepreneurial facet, ITSI hosts several Spin-Offs formed by members of the centre. These Spin-Offs offer society a wide range of services based on the knowledge generated as a result of the experience gained over the years, and as a result of their success in a multitude of competitive calls for proposals and contracts with companies.
