The International Museum of Electrography (MIDE-CIANT) is launching its 4th Mail Art / Arte Postal Call, dedicated to Pere Sousa (1955–2023), a key figure in the development and dissemination of mail art, sound poetry, and collage. In the 1990s, he directed the publication P.O.BOX and created the cultural activism platform Merz Mail (www.merzmail.net).
Cultural activist, editor, mail artist, and radio producer, Pere Sousa is considered one of the most prominent sound poets in Spain, specializing in the work of Kurt Schwitters. This edition pays tribute to his legacy, acknowledging his generous donation to MIDECIANT in 2019 and his pioneering role in the experimental and self-managed art scene.
