Language Requirements
Exchange students must have sufficient knowledge of Spanish, since most classes are taught in this language. There are also courses at the Faculty of Humanities Arts which are taught in other languages. Exchange students at the Faculty have the following options:
- to take courses taught in Spanish (Degrees in Spanish Language and Literature, History, History of the Arts and Geography).
- to take courses taught in English (Degree in English Studies).
- to take courses in French (Degree of Modern Languages and Literatures)
- to take language courses in German, Italian and Arabic (four levels A1-B2).
- to take courses in Spanish, but marked as English friendly in the Electronic Course catalogue
Students are expected to have sufficient knowledge of the language in which the course is taught.
Study area - area of the Erasmus agreement
The Faculty of Arts has a wide range of study areas and therefore a wide range of Erasmus agreements: Languages, History, Geography and History of Art. Exchange students can choose courses from the complete range of study areas taught at the Faculty. They do not need to limit themselves to the specific study area of the exchange agreement, providing they select courses offered by the Faculty and the Learning Agreement is approved by the home University. Alongside the core courses, electives and specialisations, all students can also participate in thematic seminars organised by the different departments.
Workload
All courses offered at the Faculty are listed in the Course Catalogue with both a course title and a course code. Every module is worth 6 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). A full-time study load for Spanish Students is 60 ECTS per academic year (30 ECTS per semester). Each course shall have a total teaching load of 60 hours divided into three weekly sessions, two one hour and a half sessions and a one hour session on Wednesdays. Attending all sessions and participating actively in class discussions and presentations is recommended. All students are also required to take the final assessment (final exam or final paper depending on the type of assessment of the course).
Since international students can choose different subjects from different modules [EP1] or degrees in their Learning agreement, in the event that a change is required in the Learning agreement, it must be agreed by the dates indicated:
- Until 20 November for 1st semester subjects
- Until 15 March for 2nd semester subjects
