Innovation and the transference of science and technology sustain what has come to be known as the third mission of the university, the element which ensures that the public responsibility of this academic institution is complied with. Therefore, the innovation mission covers, the group of initiatives aimed at nurturing and coordinating a process which covers the creation of an idea until its effective entrance into the market by way of a new product or service, which improves the lives of citizens and contributes to socio-economic development.
At the University of Castilla-La Mancha, the innovation mission includes cross-curricular policies, such as the transference of knowledge as well as specific programmes, amongst which the technical support office for entrepreneurial projects is noteworthy and the initiatives for incorporating talent by means of work placements or those created by the Centre for Information and Employment Promotion (CIPE).
